If you read my earlier report, you know that I had trouble getting the SuperTrapp on the bike, finally pushing it as far as it would go on the head pipe and strapping it there. After installing the SuperTrapp, I found that my Savage would die at intersections. Talking all that over by e-mail with Larry Wasserman (who is selling a beautiful custom Savage for less than $3,000 US--see the "Savage Owners" section of this site), I decided to contact SuperTrapp about the problems. Today, I got e-mail from them, telling me that I probably have a pipe with a manufacturing defect which is creating an air leak at the joint, and the air leak is causing the engine to die. They wrote that I should call for an RMA so I can exchange the pipe for a new one, and I plan to do that tomorrow. I'll keep posting as things develop.
